Phil founded Matzliach Capital to share his deep financial markets and derivatives industry experience around building and growing successful businesses. He is a recognized at leading companies through successful stages of corporate development from start-up ideation to attracting strategic investors and capital raising from the private equity community, from acquisitions and a public offering to a company sale, merger integration and turn around.
Phil founded FXall, the leading business-to-business foreign exchange platform, that grew to $125 million in revenues with 1,300+ customers and a team of 150 employees across five continents with margins of almost 50%. Phil led FXall’s successful IPO and subsequent sale to Thomson Reuters, where he ran the combined multi-billion dollar FX, rates and credit business. He integrated FXall into Thomson Reuters FX, Rates and Credit business, while modernizing the product portfolio into a powerful, consolidated offering combining data and analytics, order management and execution capabilities. Phil has been widely sought out for his market knowledge, actively participating in industry working groups including the FX Committees of the Federal Reserve Bank of NY and Bank of England, UK FCA Fair and Effective Markets review, CFTC Global Markets Advisory Subcommittee on NDF Clearing, and FX Global Code Market Participants Group of the BIS. He was instrumental in successfully navigating foreign exchange’s transition to a regulated over-the-counter (OTC) market by proactively shaping financial regulatory reform and launching a Swaps Execution Facility (SEF) for Thomson Reuters and won wide recognition with #1 placement in Euromoney’s annual Survey of Electronic Trading Platforms for over ten years, inclusion in Institutional Investor’s Trading Technology Top 40 and Profit and Loss magazine’s Hall of Fame. He began his career as Managing Director, Global FX Derivatives Trading at JP Morgan in London and NY.
Phil received a Bachelor’s of Electrical Engineering from The Cooper Union and an MBA in Finance and International Business from NYU. He also has supported philanthropic causes as a Board Member at the Tisch MS Research Center, Member of the President’s Council of The Cooper Union, and Board Member of Park East Day School.
